GRAPHICS AND DESIGN

While on the staff of the Casper College student magazine, Expression, I was asked to create a design for the cover of the book. I sketched out a draft, then turned the design digital using Adobe Photoshop. From there, it was printed and used as a guide to create the physical neon sign pictured above. A photo of the sign was used on the cover of the 2021-2022 Expressions Magazine and is hanging on the wall of the staff room.

The design I was given by one of my classmates.

The graphic I made with Adobe Illustrator. Used for numbering on each page in the magazine.

The front and back of a “mock menu” created using Adobe InDesign as an assignment in a digital media class.

In the first week of my Mass Media class, we were instructed to choose an article we found interesting. Throughout the rest of the semester, we created graphics, layouts, and audio pieces in different media formats for the article. The two here are based on the Atlantic article by Emma Sarappo.

The left graphic created was posted to Instagram, while the design above was created as a magazine format of the piece.

A regular assignment in J-4180 involves working with about five students to create a multimedia package for a story. Each student is given a different medium to tell the same story. When assigned a story about the different lodging areas and places to stay overnight in Rocheport, Mo. I chose to do a graphic.

Using photos of each building, I created graphics using Adobe Illustrator and placed them on a map of the area.
